When she joined Drag Race, she was billed as the first Korean American drag queen featured on national television. As Kim Chi moves on with the show, she accidentally steps on the tulle left behind from Yvie's outfit and falls down on the stage. After the fall, Kim also has to hold onto her wig so that it doesn't fall off her head. Immediately upon noticing the incident, Naomi Smalls stops performing to take the tulle off the stage and help Kim collect herself. Within a short time period, Kim Chi’s Halloween lark turned into a full-time gig, as she became one of Chicago’s most in-demand drag queens.
During the actual performance, however, Yvie's planned outfit reveal does not work - prompting the queen to start ripping it apart and walk offstage. The pair, both RuPaul's Drag Race alums, are joining forces under KimChi Chic cosmetics for the BFF4EVR collection, which includes a (very colorful) epic eye shadow palette, four semi-matte. Launching KimChi Chic Beauty in 2019, Chi tapped her irl bestie to create a collection of six separate uber-saturated products. Yvie mentions that she spent some time backstage testing the outfit, which has a significant length of tulle wrapped around it. The queens describe the Los Angeles stop as "one of the biggest shows ever had," but Yvie Oddly is forced to assemble a brand-new outfit for the closing number.
